Technology

Here, you'll find a few things I'm using and learning. Feel free to share how you're using the same technologies in your classroom or personal life. If you've got recommendations or tips for me, I'd love to hear them!
  • Prezi - PowerPoint is great, but it's time for something new. I heard about Prezi in a grad level math course from another teacher. I've talked with a few of my teacher friends back at my old school and none of them had heard of it! I know that when I'm teaching I feel so overwhelmed and the last thing I did when I went home was search online for the latest trends to incorporate. So I'm sharing here in hopes to help some of you beginners like me. The options for pictures are not that diverse if you are searching for pictures approved for Prezi use. However, I'm sure there are more ways to include pictures I just haven't learned them yet! Check out my Prezi on emotional control for an Early Childhood Education course.
  • iTunes - Incorporate music, podcasts, videos, storybooks, and more in your classrooms or personal life! Watch lectures at Harvard and many other universities. Learn about finance, foreign language, and more! In first grade, I had my students listen to stories to help model fluency at the Listening Station during literacy centers time. The kids loved chilling out and listening to stories. If I go back into the classroom, I'd like to have students record themselves to create podcasts for reading stories, summarizing, or book studies.
